PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

Destiny Young is a member of Bryant Miller Olive’s Public Finance practice group. She primarily focuses on the representation of state agencies, counties, municipalities, school districts, and special districts in various aspects of public finance transactions, including bond, disclosure, and underwriter’s counsel in the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable debt obligations, such as general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, certificates of participation, tax credit bonds, and revenue anticipation notes. She joined the Firm in 2022 as a Law Clerk where she gained experience and knowledge in various areas of public finance and is now an Associate Attorney in the Firm’s Tallahassee office.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Destiny graduated from Emory University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Dance and Movement Studies. Having a heart for service, she moved to Panama City, Florida, and co-founded a non-profit arts organization that provided artistic outlets in underserved communities. She also consulted with other non-profit organizations to aid in administrative efficiency, ensure 501(c)(3) compliance, and increase capital.

Destiny graduated cum laude from Florida State University College of Law. She received the Business Law Certificate, served as a staff editor of the Florida State University Business Law Review and worked as a research assistant to Dean Emeritus Donald J. Weidner, focusing on issues in partnership law. Destiny was chosen to be a member of the highly competitive XVIII Class of Gubernatorial Fellows and was placed at the Department of Economic Opportunity where she was immersed in key areas of state government. During the fellowship her policy work focused on affordable housing initiatives, and community resilience and recovery.
